DAY: Saturday, June 24, 2017
PLACE: Sunset Outdoor Test Kitchen at Cornerstone
PRICE: $45 per person (class, lunch + wine included)
It’s SUMMER TIME and we have the perfect class for you. Join Chef Edward Metcalfe of Shiso Modern Asian for an educational and simple class on traditional Hawaiian Tuna Poke. He will explore the rich history of tuna poke, break down a traditional recipe and discuss the key element to the bold flavors of a true poke. The class will discuss the three major tuna species, cover the different type of pokes, and teach rice cooking 101. In addition, Chef will share a pickling recipe and make a tradition cucumber sunomono salad that pairs well with tuna poke. At the end of class, lunch and a glass of Meadowcroft Wine's 2016 French Colombard, Keating Wine's Sauvignon Blanc, or Poseidon Vineyard & Obsidian Ridge's Estate Chardonnay will be served – you’ll get to enjoy the delicious food (and some lovely whites wines from our Cornerstone Tasting Rooms) you’ve been learning about. You’ll also receive recipes handouts so you can take your knowledge home and enjoy tuna poke all summer long!
Class + Demos will take place from approximately 11:00am-12:00pm. Lunch + wine will take place from approximately 12:00pm-1:00pm
To enjoy the wine served at the end of this class, you must by 21 years or older. If you are under 21 years, and want to attend the class, you are welcome, you will just need to skip the wine portion. Thanks!
